About New Christian Life

There is a lot of information out there about practical Christian living. But I think that’s all a bit boring.

This blog will explore the ancient, heterodox, and common religious practices of Christians. For example, we know that many Christians visited ritual specialists for supernatural help, such as amulets and spells. We know that because a) there is physical evidence of these objects, including the Christian names of God, and b) religious leaders tried to make them stop doing it for hundreds (if not thousands) of years.

This website is a resource for curious, adventurous people who want to practice Christianity on their own terms.

You will not find anything here about chakras, witchcraft, or reiki. Those are practices that are outside Christianity, and you will have to learn them elsewhere (if you want to).

Instead, you will learn about the historical methods that Christianity offers, including amulets, rituals, inquiry, and worship. You will learn about the ceremonial warrior women who served at the Temple gates, the women who made weavings that decorated the Temple, powerful necromancers who raised the dead for kings, and wise women who would be sought for their wisdom from all over the country. You will learn about the men of power who battled magicians, spoke mystical true words, foretold future events, and raised the dead by the power of God. And that is all directly from the Bible!

I also hope to describe Christian traditions from all over the world, such as healing charms.

They are all our heritage, and there are probably even more practices that we have lost the stories of.

How do we know that we have permission to use these kinds of power? Because our God is powerful, and we are told not to use the powers of other Gods:

You must not do as they do in the land of Egypt where you have been living, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan into which I am about to bring you.

Leviticus 18:3-4

You must think there is no God in Israel! That explains why you are on your way to seek an oracle from Baal Zebub the god of Ekron.

2 Kings 1:3

Welcome to your new Christian life!
